Returns/Right of Withdrawal

1. Most products manufactured and/or supplied by Area8 are made to order and are not prefabricated. As a result, these products are excluded from the right of withdrawal. This applies specifically to products manufactured based on the customer’s individual choices and specifications.

2. For products in stock and/or products for which no individual choices have been made, the consumer may exercise their right of withdrawal by email: info@area8.nl.

3. For products to which the right of withdrawal applies and where the consumer Area8 requests to pick up the product, the costs for this are the responsibility of the consumer. For countries outside the Netherlands and Belgium, these costs will be higher and will depend on the delivery rates at that time. The product must be ready behind the first threshold at the agreed-upon time and properly packaged. If this is not the case, the product will not be picked up.

4. Our packaging is of high quality and is custom-made for each order. If you no longer have the packaging or if it is no longer in its original condition, we will have to make new packaging. The cost for this is €70 per package.

Warranty

1. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Area8 guarantees the soundness of the delivered products for a period of 60 months after delivery.

2. The warranty covering products applies exclusively to defects caused by faulty manufacturing, construction, or materials.

3. With regard to wood, the natural tendency of wood to warp is excluded from the warranty. This is not considered a defect in the manufacturing process, but rather an inherent property of the material. By the term “shrinkage and expansion of wood,” we mean the process of expansion, contraction, cracking, and/or warping. The wood used in Area8 is carefully sawn and kiln-dried to a moisture content of approximately 8% to 12%. This ensures that the product is suitable for use in a heated environment.

4. With natural stone, natural characteristics such as color variations, veins, fossil inclusions, crystals, pits, open grain, or natural cracks are inherent to the material and do not constitute grounds for a warranty claim. These characteristics are not considered defects in the production process but are part of the authentic character of natural stone.

5. The customer is responsible for thoroughly informing themselves about the properties of natural materials such as wood and natural stone prior to purchase. Information on this topic is available on the website at Area8 or can be requested directly from Area8. The fact that a customer has not informed themselves does not relieve them of this responsibility.

6. The warranty does not apply in cases of normal wear and tear or damage resulting from accidents, modifications made to the product, negligence, or improper use by the customer, nor does it apply when the cause of the defect cannot be clearly determined.

7. The risk of loss, damage, or theft of the products that are the subject of an agreement between the parties passes to the customer at the moment they are legally and/or physically delivered, or at least when they come into the possession of the customer or a third party receiving the product on the customer’s behalf.

8. For custom-made products, minor variations in dimensions are possible. Unless otherwise agreed, Area8 reserves the right to deviate by up to 3% from the agreed-upon dimensions.
